is a painter and printmaker and an art tutor. In a former life she was a teacher, a chef and the organiser of the St Ives September Festival.

 

helmut

started his professional life as a male nurse - he is still a wizard at making the beds! When he is not doing just that or checking in guests he designs web sites for galleries and other businesses.

 

Before starting to run 'ultramarine' they owned Monterey Guesthouse and then the Ventura Restaurant, both in st ives, and 'Doris's Restaurant' on the Irish Westcoast.

"We both love St Ives. It is a small town but with a cosmopolitan feeling and lots of good, interesting people. We enjoy looking after our guests and making them feel welcome and comfortable. We like a relaxed atmosphere in the house because that is what a good holiday is all about, isn't it?"
